Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally A Detroit Jacket In Store in a size Medium I was in Portland and decided to stop by the Carharrt store to see if the Detroit Jacket or Chore Coat was in store in a Medium. In Washington state there are no Chore Coats at all or Detroit Jackets smaller than 2XL to be found anywhere. Even at the Carharrt store in Downtown Seattle. So to my surprise hanging up in the Portland Store there it was. In a Medium! I tried it on and it fit like a Large. Perfect, as I normally where a large in every other brand. But medium in Carharrt. I never let that Jacket out of my hands til I purchased it. I got the Black one. They even had the Carharrt Brown too. As for the Jacket...I was better than I expected!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket. Gave it 5 stars but a little surprised that for the new updated version of this cost they didn’t do a better job with the new zipper. It’s very hard to get started and if you have gloves on good luck. I purchased the prior version of this jacket earlier this fall and the zipper exploded on the first washing. Give how long I’ve been wearing Carhartt it’s surprising. Usually stuff is well designed and quality materials used. Seems they like to skimp on the zipper with this jacket. Still love it. Super warm and looks good. Right length and cut. I’m 6’ and 185. Had to get a larger tall for it to fit right properly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Been wearing the Detroit jacket for 20 years or so, and I was looking to upgrade to a new jacket since my current jacket is showing it age. I have my current jacket for about 8 years. I went online and ordered a new Detroit jacket same size as my current jacket thinking all would be good, not even close. The quality is down inside and out and it fits is in the shoulders and arms though around the mid section this jacket is for a dude with a gut. Lastly the Detroit jacket is no longer made in the USA. I’d rather pay a few more bucks and put an American to work and get that great American quality. What a shame

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I've been looking for a jacket to replace my carhartt Detroit Jacket J97, which unfortunately has been discontinued. This jacket appeared similar and was advertised as a replacement. This jacket is cut extremly wide in the waste. Almost 7 inches of material more than the J97 for the same ordered jacket. The J97 is a similar jacket cut for a slim waste. This jacke is cut for an extremly large frame. I was looking for a jacket to work in that would not become a hazard due to all the extra material around the waste. This is not the jacket for a slim body frame. I am returning the jacket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket for hard work Great jacket almost as good as the Otto have had for twenty years. Only thing I wish it has was the waist snaps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bring back the old style When I received the jacket I was shocked that such a classic design was "updated". I don't like the missing side tabs and change to the sleeves. I need a 39" sleeve length and typically add material to create a cuff for additional length. I didn't like that the added cuff wasn’t pointed out in the pictures on the website. The cuffs extensions are probably a cost saving measure used on the Tall sizes. (Fortunately, customer service was nice enough to send me extra material to make my own.) If it isn't broken, don't fix it. Bring back the green version and I'll retract this review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Golden Age Of This Jacket Has Passed I bought one of these originally in the early 2000's. It was made in America and was a truly robust jacket. I was deeply impress with it's quality apparently other people were too because, it was eventually stolen. I obviously dragged my feet to get a new one. Fast forward to present day, this jacket is not how I remembered it. The present 2020 version isn't made in the US and just lacks that same aesthetic. It's not a bad jacket but, it's not of the high standard that would justify the expense. I'm sure that quality control is on point and if you like the new look then you'll dig it but, if you owned the old version of this jacket you will be DEEPLY disappointed. Think Gary Oldman 5th element level disappointed.
