The Tactical Trainer 2.0 has the styling of a lightweight hiker built with from the mindset of a duty boot to meet the training needs for public safety professionals.

The new and improved Tactical Trainer 2.0 was designed based on feedback from 5.11 Tactical's Product Development Meetings. End-users requested a tactical boot that can be worn covertly, that also features the function, comfort, and innovation they have come to expect from 5.11 Tactical products. The Tactical Trainer 2.0 is disguised as a light hiker and when worn with jeans or 5.11 Cover Khakis can help you disappear into a crowd or pair it with our Taclite Pro pants and train on the range.  You can also wear these trainers to the gym or off the clock for a family hike or pick up football game.

The Tactical Trainer 2.0 Mid WP features a combination of waterproof suede, open air mesh and a waterproof/breathable membrane for breathability, support and protection.  We've also added another layer of abrasion resistance at the toe and heel for the high wear areas.

We've engineered the Tactical Trainer 2.0 on a new comfort platform.  The Ortholite insole combined with a compression molded EVA midsole provide lightweight, flexible, and supportive all day comfort.  This tactical boot is built on a hiking boot last that offers adequate volume in the forefoot and a secure fit around the midfoot and ankle.   The outsole has been redesigned with a new lug pattern and multiple flex grooves for great traction, flexibility and support.  We've also added a TPU external heel counter for additional lateral support.

The Tactical Trainer 2.0 is comfortable right out of the box and does not require any break in time.  The "stay tied sausage laces" and combination of lace ghillies and traditional anchored eyelets will secure all foot types.

Measuring for Proper Fit

Men - Taking measurementsThe following guidelines are important in getting the right fit:

  • Take all measurements in inches
  • If your measurements are between sizes, order the larger size
  • For greatest accuracy, have someone else take your measurements (rather than doing it yourself)
  • Your tape measure should be pulled snug, not tight
For Men's shirts:
  • NECK: Measure the circumference of the neck (see illustration)
  • SLEEVE LENGTH: Place one end of tape at the bottom of your collar, at the center of your back, then measure down around your elbow to the bottom of your wrist (it helps to have your arm slightly bent)
  • CHEST: Measure at the fullest point of the chest, keeping the tape under arms and around shoulder blades; Be sure to hold the tape level and firmly, but not tight
For Men's trousers, jeans, and bib overalls:
  • WAIST: Holding the tape snug, not tight, measure at the top of the hipbone over shirt (not over pants); If you wear your trousers or jeans at a different place on your waist, adjust accordingly
  • INSEAM: Measure from the base of the crotch to the top of your shoe or boot; For jeans, add one inch
For Men's jackets:
  • CHEST SIZE: Measure at the fullest point of the chest, keeping the tape under arms and around shoulder blades; Take this measurement over clothing you'll typically wear with the jacket
  • SLEEVE LENGTH: Place one end of tape at the bottom of your collar, at the center of your back, then measure down around your elbow to the outer edge of your wrist
